Barista at my local shop totally changed how I order
Went to Brew & Bean on 12th street last Tuesday. New barista named Jen asked if I ever tried the Ethiopian pour-over. Said most people just grab the house blend on autopilot. She was right, I always get the same dark roast. Took her suggestion and wow, the flavor notes were completely different. Made me wonder how many routines I just repeat without thinking. Anyone else had a coffee shop conversation that shifted your whole morning?

The Ethiopian pour-over at Brew & Bean is actually my go-to now too lol. I used to think light roasts were just sour and weak, but that one changed my mind completely. It has like a blueberry and wine taste that actually wakes me up better than the dark stuff. I grab a bag for home every couple weeks now.

My coworker swore by dark roasts for YEARS until I made her try this one and she literally brought an empty bag back to the shop the next day to buy more. Now she texts me every time she makes a cup like it's some kind of HUGE discovery all over again.

Right?? That blueberry thing is NO joke. I had the exact same reaction when I first tried it. Light roasts felt like bitter tea to me before, but that one actually has layers. I swear I can taste the wine note more toward the end of the cup, like a dry finish that just sits on your tongue for a bit. Gets me going way faster than any dark roast ever did too, less jittery feeling.
