Old barista at BrewLab told me to ditch my ceramic pour over for a plastic one, and I honestly thought he was nuts until I tasted the difference
He said ceramic steals too much heat from the slurry, so I switched to a $6 Hario plastic dripper last month and my morning cup in Seattle is actually smoother now, though it feels wrong brewing in plastic - has anyone else had this debate with their local coffee person?

Did you try preheating the ceramic one first?

Ha, yeah because what every ceramic heater needs is more heat thrown at it before it even turns on. That's like preheating your toaster.
