Rant: I used to read the whole paper at the shop, now I scroll my phone like everyone else
Three years ago I had a nice routine at Cafe Miel on 5th, get my drip coffee, grab the local paper off the rack, and actually read it cover to cover for about 45 minutes. Now I still go there every Saturday at 8, but the paper rack is gone and the owner said only two people ever touched it. So I sit with my phone like a zombie, scrolling news that I forget 10 seconds later. I miss having a reason to put the screen down, and I hate that the paper just quietly disappeared. Do any of you still have a shop that keeps real papers around, or is that gone everywhere now?
