Saw a barista in Chicago fold a napkin under a wobbly table leg.
My latte was sloshing every time someone walked by. She just grabbed a spare napkin, folded it twice, and slid it under the short leg. Worked perfect, no more shake. How many other simple fixes are hiding in plain sight at your local spot?

Read about a bartender using a matchbook for the same trick... seems like a lost art.

Wow, that really takes me back. I always thought those fancy metal pour spouts were the only way to control a pour. But a matchbook wedged under the bottle cap? That's clever. It makes perfect sense for adjusting the flow. You're right, it feels like a piece of history most new bartenders will never even hear about.

It's amazing how a little bit of paper can solve a big problem. My old coffee shop used a folded sugar packet to level their espresso machine tray. Those quick fixes are the best kind of workaround.
