Shoutout to the barista who told me I was ordering wrong
I stopped into a little shop in Portland called Lionheart Coffee last Tuesday. I always order a plain black drip coffee and get out quick. But the barista, a guy named Marcus, handed me my cup and said I was missing out by not trying their pour over. He explained how the drip machine goes stale after an hour and the pour over is fresh to order. So I gave it a shot, paid the extra two bucks, and wow what a difference. The flavor was cleaner and brighter, not that muddy taste I got used to. Now I always ask what pour over beans they have when I walk in a new shop. Has anyone else gotten a menu suggestion that completely changed your routine?

Yeah same here. I used to think drip was fine. That pour over changed my mind fast.

Man that's a solid upgrade from Marcus... did he mention what beans they were using for the pour over that day?

Gosh, that is surprising. I never figured Marcus for the type to skimp on bean quality.
