That loud typing guy at my coffee shop thinks he owns the place
Last Tuesday at Brew & Mew in Austin, this dude with a mechanical keyboard sat next to me and clacked away for three hours straight, and when I asked him to tone it down he said I should bring headphones like I'm the one being rude - has anyone else dealt with someone treating a coffee shop like their personal office?

Respectfully, I see it a bit different. Coffee shops are public spaces and people can type however they want as long as they aren't yelling or playing music out loud. The mechanical keyboard sound is annoying sure, but asking a stranger to change their normal behavior over something small feels like overstepping. @the_kim had the right idea just moving seats instead of starting a whole thing about it. Sometimes the easiest fix is just to grab a different table or put in earbuds yourself.

Walked into my local coffee shop last month and saw some dude had set up a whole docking station with two monitors and a lamp. Like he was running a Fortune 500 company from a latte table. I get it, people need to work but there's a line. @the_kim probably would have just moved seats too but I told the guy his setup was blocking the pastry case. He got all huffy and said I was being aggressive. I just wanted a scone, man.
