The guy in the corner booth finally looked up from his laptop
For about three months, I've been at the same table at The Daily Grind in Portland every Tuesday morning. The same guy was always in the corner booth, head down, typing like his life depended on it. Last week, he closed his laptop, looked right at me, and said, 'I just finished my novel.' He'd been writing the whole thing here. It was a small moment, but it felt big. Has anyone else seen a regular finally finish their big project?
