Vent: the espresso machine at my local shop broke on a Saturday and the owner just handed out free drip coffee for 6 hours
I went in at 8am for my usual double shot and found a handwritten sign taped to the register saying the machine was down. The owner, Maria, just started pouring drip for everyone and refused to charge a single person, and by 11am the line was out the door with regulars bringing her bagels and donuts. I ended up staying until 2pm just talking to people I'd never met before, and honestly it was the best coffee shop day I've had in years.
