I was wrong about McFarlane figures being junk

For years I swore off McFarlane Toys because the older ones had terrible articulation and weird proportions. I saw a Spawn figure from the 90s at a buddy's house last month and it looked like it couldn't even stand up straight. Then my nephew dragged me into a Target in Phoenix and I grabbed a Batman from the new line just to mess with him. Man, I was shocked. The joints are way better now and the sculpt detail actually holds up against Marvel Legends at half the price. I still think some of the faces look off, but for $20 you get a heavy figure with a lot of paint apps. What sold me was the Knightfall Azrael figure I saw online - it has cloth goods and everything. Has anyone else come around on these newer waves after hating the old stuff?

Totally feel you on this. I had the exact same reaction after ignoring McFarlane for like 15 years. Picked up the new Knightfall Batman on a whim and was blown away by how solid he feels in hand. The Azrael with the cloth cape is honestly one of my favorite figures on my shelf right now, and I paid less than I would for a basic Marvel Legend.

Buddy of mine grabbed that Knightfall Batman too and won't shut up about it.
