Just left the big comic con in Chicago and the scalper prices were insane

I was at C2E2 yesterday and the line for the main artist alley was wrapped around the whole hall. The real issue was the people outside the main doors with stacks of the big exclusive books. I saw one guy trying to sell the new Spider-Man #1 variant for $300 cash, which is like five times the cover price. He had at least ten copies. It makes it impossible for regular fans who waited in line to get one for themselves. Has anyone else run into this at other cons lately? How do you even deal with it?

That guy with ten copies of the Spider-Man book is the whole problem. What's stopping the con from just limiting sales to one or two per person at the booth?

Ten copies... that's just greedy, lily70.

Yeah but like, what's the actual reason they don't limit it? Is it just easier for them to sell out fast?
