PSA: a vendor at a con in Omaha sold me a "graded" X-Men #1 that turned out to be a reprint
I was at the Omaha con last Saturday and this guy with a booth near the back had a slabbed X-Men #1 for $90, which should have been my first clue since a real copy goes for way more. I got home, looked up the cert number on the grader's site, and it came back as a reprint that someone had resealed in a fake case. I called the con organizers and they actually tracked the vendor down and got my money back, but now I'm paranoid about every slab I see. How do you all check slabs before buying at a show?
