Remember when you could just walk into a comic shop and grab a new issue off the shelf?

I was at a big con in Chicago maybe 8 years ago, and the line for a new #1 was so long it wrapped around the block before the doors even opened. That was the moment I gave up on trying to get single issues the day they came out and switched to trade paperbacks almost full time. Do you guys still try to keep up with weekly pulls, or did something push you to wait for the collected editions too?

Watched my local shop close last year, and that really killed the weekly habit for me. Getting a new comic felt tied to the place and the people, not just the paper. Now I read everything digital, but I still pick up a physical trade for the series I really love, just to have something on the shelf. The ritual changed, but the want for the story didn't.

Heard a podcast say the direct market's basically built for the Wednesday crowd now...

My buddy's shop shut down, killed his whole routine.
