The day the comic shop got a massive collection in
Last Wednesday a guy came into my local shop with 5 long boxes of 90s Image comics that his dad left him. Spent 3 hours digging through and found a complete set of Spawn #1 misprints. Has anyone else stumbled on a random collection like that?

Pulled a near complete run of The Maxx from a $10 box at a garage sale once.

Man that's such a killer find... The Maxx is one of those books that just doesn't show up in the wild like it used to. I remember finding a stack of issues 1-10 at a flea market for like 50 cents each and my heart almost stopped. Sam Kieth's art is so weird and raw, nothing else really looks like it. Especially those early issues where the linework gets all scratchy and messy, that's peak 90s comics right there. You probably got the whole Mt. Maslow story arc too, that's the best part of the run.

Smith.anna found a solid deal too. You bagged that Mt. Maslow arc for sure, that whole stretch from issue 11 on is where the book really finds its voice. For anyone looking to read it, check your library's Hoopla account before you overpay on eBay - they've got the full series on there. Just watch for water damage on those old newsprint copies, that's a common issue with the Maxx.
