Chat with an old saturation diver made me nervous about my gas training
Ran into a guy at the dock in Freeport who did 30 years in the North Sea and he said half the new guys he sees can't read a decompression table without pulling out a phone. He told me if your battery dies at 200 feet you're just guessing. How do you keep your table skills sharp when everything's digital now?

Keep a laminated card of the key tables in your drysuit pocket as a backup. I run through a random depth-time scenario while my coffee brews each morning just to keep it fresh. If you can do the math in your head without the phone, you'll never be the guy second-guessing a stop.

Ngl, that "run through scenarios while coffee brews" thing is brilliant.
