Found out the average commercial dive lasts around 2 hours max, not the 6 hour days I always imagined

I was reading through some old Navy dive logs from the 70s I found online and realized even back then they kept bottom times super tight. Did any of you guys start out thinking youd be down there all day like me?

Wondering what made you tap out so fast, @the_max. Was it the cold water that got you, or just not feeling the vibe? I've seen people bail after two hours because the swell died or the crowd got too pushy. Curious what your breaking point was down there.

Used to think two hours was nothing, but honestly this changed my mind lol.

Two hours in cold water is brutal, no shame in tapping out early. I've been there, sometimes the conditions just aren't worth pushing through.
