Got told my lift bag setup was trash by an old timer in the Gulf

Was working a salvage job off Port Fourchon last month and this diver with 30 years in said my lift bag lines were way too long and tangled. He showed me how to pre-rig them with a quick release that saves like 10 minutes per bag. Has anyone else had an experienced diver tell you to change something that felt weird at first but worked way better?

Tried it out? Yeah he "tried" it. Spent a solid hour staring at the box like it was gonna assemble itself. Then he broke the first piece trying to force it in. Classic move. Now it's sitting in his garage next to the other half finished projects.

Remember my buddy Dave who tried that 3D printer kit? He opened the box, took one look at the instructions, and said "I'll figure it out." Four hours later he had a pile of melted plastic and a piece that was glued to his finger. The thing has been under his workbench for two years now. I think the dust alone has probably doubled its weight.
