I always thought the old way to check for a small leak was fine until a job in Mobile Bay
We had a slow leak in a 4-inch pipeline valve that was tough to spot with just dye tabs. My dive partner brought a plastic bag and some dish soap mixed with water in a squeeze bottle. He sprayed the mix on the valve and the smallest bubbles showed the exact leak spot in about 30 seconds. I used to think that was a home fix, but it saved us an hour of searching in low vis. Has anyone else found a simple trick that works better than the standard gear?

Actually that soap trick is the old way... dye tabs came later. Funny how the simple stuff still works best sometimes.

Exactly! Old school hacks are often the best.

Yeah @anthony129, I read that too, the old soap trick was basically free.
