My Helmet Comm Started Failing at 90 Feet, Lesson Learned

Last month on a job off the coast near Port Angeles, my comms started cutting out at 90 feet during a bottom inspection. I figured it was the topside box or maybe a bad cable, but it turned out to be a cracked connector on my own headset that I'd been putting off replacing. Cost me a full day of downtime and about $400 in lost time for the client. Have any of you had comm issues that traced back to something you thought was minor, and what did you swap out to fix it permanently?

That cracked connector is the classic "I'll get to it next week" move. Same reason my buddy's truck sat dead for a month over a $14 relay he knew was bad. The quick fix always costs more than the real one, but we all learn that the hard way.
