Old diver at the dock in Galveston told me to quit checking my gauge so much, and it's been bugging me since
Was bullshitting with him after a shallow job last Tuesday, and he goes 'you look at that SPG every thirty seconds like it's gonna change its mind.' I laughed it off but he's been doing this since the 80s. I keep going back and forth on it. On one hand yeah, I'm probably overchecking and it takes my eyes off the work. On the other hand it's my air, you know? How do you guys pace yourself on gauge checks without feeling like you're being careless? Do you go by feel and time mostly or still eyeball it constant?
