So I've been over-tightening my bailout bottle O-rings for YEARS

A guy in Port Arthur showed me the proper hand-tight plus a quarter-turn method after mine failed a pressure check. How do you all seal your secondary regs to avoid that slow creep?

My old dive buddy used to just crank them until his knuckles turned white. We found his spares were all flattened like little rubber pancakes.

That old dive shop in Key Largo had a torque wrench bolted to the counter. The owner made you use it on your first O-ring, said the crush force is way lower than hand strength. It clicked at like 2 inch-pounds, felt like nothing. Changed how I saw every bolt and seal after that.
