Switched from a Kirby Morgan to a Drager helmet last month on a job in the Gulf.
I thought the KM was the only way to go but the Drager was way lighter and I didn't get as tired by the end of a 10-hour day. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in fatigue?

Wait wait wait, you actually switched FROM a KM? I thought those things were like the gold standard down in the Gulf, everyone I know swears by them. But a whole ten hour day with less fatigue? That's wild to me, I always figured the weight was just part of the deal, like you gotta earn your pay with a sore neck. Now I'm half tempted to give a Drager a shot on my next hitch, just to see if it's really that much of a game changer.

Honestly it's like everything else in life, people get stuck on what they know and assume it's the best just because everyone says so. I've seen it with tools, cars, even phones - sometimes the new thing is actually better but nobody wants to admit they've been hauling around dead weight for years. The Drager's not perfect for every job, but for long shifts the difference is real and your neck will thank you. The old guard will keep swearing by their KMs, but once you try something lighter you can't unfeel it.

You ever have that moment where you try something new and it just clicks, makes you wonder why you suffered so long? I feel you on that neck pain thing, it's like we're all just supposed to accept that working hard means being sore everywhere. People get so defensive about their old gear, like switching brands is some kind of betrayal or something. But honestly, if it works better for your body then who cares what the old timers think, right? Your body's the one that has to do the job, not theirs.
