Three years into diving and just realized my drysuit inflator was actually adjustable

Last month on a job in Port Angeles I finally cranked the valve a quarter turn after years of fighting with buoyancy and suddenly felt like an idiot for never checking the manual.

Wait wait wait... "my drysuit inflator was actually adjustable"?? THREE YEARS? That's insane. I mean I get it, I dove for like two years with a leaky neck seal before I realized you could actually tighten the damn thing. But the inflator valve? That's like the whole point of having a drysuit. You must have been fighting with your buoyancy like crazy all that time. I can't even imagine trying to do a proper safety stop with a valve that wasn't set right. That quarter turn probably changed your whole dive life huh.

Read somewhere that a surprising number of divers miss that adjustment, @jake986, so you're not alone.

So you actually never touched that knob on the top of the valve? Like the one with the little ridges you can grip? I'm just curious what kind of buoyancy fights you were having before. Were you constantly dumping air or adding air to compensate for the valve being stuck wide open or closed?
