Tried a new dive shop in Galveston and my reg came back with sand inside
I took my regulator to this newer shop down on Pier 8 for a simple annual service. Guy behind the counter was nice enough, said it'd be two days. When I picked it up I noticed sand grit around the mouthpiece threads. Took it for a shallow 20 foot checkout dive and it was breathing hard on inhale. I went back and the owner said the kid cleaning it didn't flush the hoses proper. Now I just drive the extra 30 minutes to my old guy even if he costs $40 more. Any of you had a bad service scare?

Sandy reg" sounds like my college laundry habits.

Hmm, I gotta disagree with you there. Sandy reg is way more intentional than just letting your laundry pile up for a few days. It's more like a specific system for managing the chaos, not just giving up on it. You're actually setting a schedule for when you wash and fold, even if that schedule means you have a mountain of clothes for a few extra days. It's a deliberate choice, not a lazy accident. There's a big difference between forgetting about your laundry and deciding you'll handle it all on Sunday afternoon.

Hold on, wait. @the_william you had an actual system for dirty laundry in college? I always just let mine turn into a science experiment under the bed until I ran out of socks.
