Tried a new underwater epoxy on a patch job in the Houston ship channel

It set up way faster than the label said in that cold water, almost left me stuck to the hull. Anyone know a good slow-cure brand for winter work?

Man, that fast set in cold water is no joke. I had to switch to West System's Six10 for winter jobs because it stays workable. That extra time lets you get a solid bond without the panic.

Oh man, that's scary. I had a close call like that last year. I switched to Marine-Tex Slow Cure for cold water, it gave me a solid 45 minute work time even in like 50 degree water. Stuff saved my bacon.

Yeah @bennett.jana that slow cure stuff is a game changer. I mean, people talk about work time but forget the epoxy gets brittle if it cures too fast in the cold. The slow set lets it stay a little flexible, so the patch doesn't just crack again when the hull flexes.
