Bus driver called me out for blocking the back door and I had no idea I was doing it
So I take the 42 bus downtown every morning and I always stand near the back door so I can get off quick at my stop. Last week the driver actually yelled "hey you in the blue coat, stop leaning on the door" in front of like 20 people. I was so embarrassed because I never realized the door has a sensor and my weight was causing it to not close properly. Now I stand by the middle pole instead and honestly the bus moves faster at my stop now. Has anyone else gotten called out by a bus driver for something you didn't even know was a problem?

Wait, you actually improved the bus route just by standing somewhere else? Man, now I'm paranoid I've been the reason my bus is slow this whole time. I'm always leaning on stuff without thinking, kinda like a human piece of furniture. Pretty sure I've been the reason the bus doors jammed at least a dozen times and I just blamed the driver. At least now you know, so you can be a "model passenger" like the rest of us try to be, but usually fail at.

Are you kidding me dude, @drew_reed62 is totally right. My buddy Mike used to just stand there with his backpack pushed on the back door, and the driver had to tell him three times before he moved. The third time the driver literally stopped the bus in the middle of traffic and came back to tap him on the shoulder. Mike said everyone was staring and he felt like a total idiot. Now he holds the rail by the middle door and swears the bus starts moving at least five seconds faster. So yeah, pretty sure we’ve all been that guy without knowing it.

@drew_reed62 oh for sure, I once blocked the back door with my grocery bag and the driver gave me the death glare for full blocks.
