Finally figured out why my bus was always late...
Took me like 2 months of taking the 7:15 AM route to realize I was standing at the wrong stop. The 7:15 goes down Oak Street, not Maple, and the driver shouted 'wrong stop honey' out the window at me this morning... anyone else ever just blindly trust Google Maps without checking the actual sign?

Google Maps had me walking in circles for an hour once looking for a bus stop that was actually behind a hedge the whole time... felt like a total idiot when a nice old lady just pointed at it.

That "walking in circles for an hour" part you mentioned @ray136 really hit home. I've had Google Maps send me to a spot that was supposedly the stop, but the actual bus stop sign was around the corner on a different street entirely. The app just assumes you know where you're going, but it doesn't tell you that the bus stop moved six months ago or that the sign fell down. I ended up missing a job interview once because I was standing where the map said to be, and the bus just drove right past me on the other side of the road. Now I always check the physical sign and the route number twice before I commit to waiting anywhere.

Swapped to checking the city transit website for any service alerts before I even open the maps app. It's annoying having to cross-reference two things, but it saved me from waiting at a stop that was temporarily closed for construction last month. Now I just pull up the official route map from the transit site and follow along with Google Maps as a backup instead of trusting it blindly.
