Found a shortcut through the alley behind the old bakery on 5th street

I was running 10 minutes late for my train on Tuesday and decided to try cutting through that alley behind the abandoned bakery on 5th street. It shaved off a solid 8 minutes and I actually caught the 8:15 instead of waiting for the 8:30. Anyone else found random shortcuts that actually work or is this just a fluke?

Did you see that local news article a few months back about the city planning to open up a bunch of these alleys as pedestrian shortcuts? I swear I remember reading that the alley behind the old bakery was one of them. I've used that one a few times myself, its a solid 5 minute save for me going to the grocery store. The trick is knowing which ones are actually paved and not full of trash bins, because some of those alleys are basically obstacle courses lol. Good find though, I bet that shortcut saves you a ton of time if you catch the train just right.
