Found out my train ride home is exactly 37 songs long

My commute is 47 songs if I do the shorter route. The thing is, songs vary so much in length. A punk song might be 90 seconds but a prog rock track can go 10 minutes. So your 37 songs is basically a meaningless number unless you tell me what kind of music you listen to. I'd also bet you're rounding up or down depending on traffic lights and how fast you walk to the train. Actually timing it with a stopwatch and a set playlist would be the only way to get an accurate measurement.

Feel you, my commute changes by like 5 songs depending on traffic and it drives me nuts too.

@grantelizabeths51 I get what you're saying but I think you're overcomplicating it. Most people just use song count as a rough vibe check, not an exact science. Like if I say my commute is 37 songs and someone else says theirs is 15, you know mine is longer even if we listen to different genres. The stopwatch method would be way more accurate but who actually does that? I'd rather just hit shuffle and let whatever plays play. You're right that punk vs prog changes things but the average pop song is like 3-4 minutes so the number still gives you a decent ballpark.
