Guy at the gas station made me rethink my whole route to work

Stopped for coffee at a Shell off I-40 yesterday and this old timer filling up next to me said he drives 90 miles each way and just listens to audiobooks about history, never touches the radio. I've been doing the same 25 mile slog for 8 years with podcasts about true crime and I realized I can barely remember one episode. Made me wonder, does anyone else stick to one type of media on their commute or have you switched things up after a random chat with a stranger?

Feeling this hard. I did podcasts about serial killers for like 4 years straight and couldn't tell you a single name from any of them. Switched to old radio dramas and classic audiobooks about cowboys and the civil war last year, and now I actually remember stuff from my drive. My wife thinks it's weird but she's noticed I come home less wound up too. That old timer at the gas station might be onto something, sometimes a stranger just flips a switch in your brain.
