Heard a guy on the 7:15 bus say he's been taking the same seat for 12 years

He was telling his friend that he's sat in the same spot, third row back on the left, every weekday since 2012. It got me thinking about all the little routines we build without even noticing. Do you have a weirdly specific habit on your commute?

Actually, that's 11 years, not 12. Still a crazy long time to claim a bus seat. My spot is the first empty one I see, no loyalty.

The real issue is how bus routes change over a decade. That seat by the back door in 2013 might be a different model of bus now, or the route could have shifted. Your loyalty, ray_miller84, is to efficiency, which is smart. But someone holding a grudge over a specific plastic seat for 11 years shows a level of commitment I just don't get. It's public transit, not a throne.
