Hit my 500th bus ride to downtown this morning and it got me thinking

I keep a little tally in my phone just for fun, and this morning I hit 500 commutes on the same bus line. That's like 250 hours sitting on that blue vinyl seat watching the same strip malls go by. Most people I talk to think I'm crazy for taking the bus every day, but I've had some of my best ideas for solving pipe layouts on those rides. It's also the only time I actually sit still and read - which is more than I can say for my coworkers who spend 45 minutes white-knuckling through traffic. Anybody else track weird commute stats like this or am I just that bored?

That tally app you're using - is it actually a habit tracker or just a notes app thing? I used to keep a similar count on my old flip phone for every time I spotted a car with only one working headlight during my night shifts, ended up at like 87 before I lost the phone in a pothole. The bus thing makes sense though, I had a buddy who learned guitar basics just by humming tunes on his commute and now he's in a band. Keeps the mind from going stale, you know?

The blue vinyl is impressive, but I think people are getting the color wrong. It's closer to a teal or turquoise in person, not straight up blue. No knock on @the_linda though, that's still some serious effort to track down.
