I finally stopped taking the early train after a guy at the coffee cart warned me
For 2 years I took the 6:45 AM train into Boston thinking it would save me time and stress. Then Pete, the guy who runs the coffee cart at North Station, told me that train is always the most crowded because of the hospital shift change. I laughed it off at first but then I actually looked around one morning. He was totally right - 247 people crammed into cars meant for 180, all of us standing and bumping into each other. I switched to the 7:15 train last month and now I get a seat every single time. Has anyone else gotten solid advice from a random stranger during their commute?

247 people crammed into cars meant for 180" - that math doesn't quite add up for a train car.

Feel for you, that commute sounds miserable with those numbers.

Man that math thing is such a nitpick, the real issue is how brutal those commutes are. Hope things ease up for you soon.
