I just lost $40 because I didn't check the bus schedule change
Our local bus route got a new timetable a month ago, and I totally missed the memo. I showed up at my usual time yesterday, waited 25 minutes, and ended up having to call a rideshare to get to work on time. That one trip cost me $40, which is basically my whole bus budget for two weeks. I felt so dumb, especially since the new schedule was posted online the whole time. Has anyone else gotten burned by a sudden public transit change like this? How do you keep track?

Man, my city's transit app saved me from that exact headache last year. They changed the weekend schedule for the number 7 line without much warning. I set up push notifications for service alerts on the app itself, so now I get a little ping on my phone if anything shifts. I also follow the transit authority's Twitter account because they post real time updates about delays or new timetables. It's not perfect, but checking those two things on Sunday night has become a habit.

Honestly @the_anthony, same, I check the app alerts every Friday night.

Yeah but that "checking Sunday night" habit is exactly what gets me. Last month the alerts for my bus line came through at like 6 AM Monday, right as I was heading out. The schedule had changed that morning. So my Sunday night check was useless. I've just accepted I need to look at the actual schedule board at the stop every single morning now.
