I've been taking the same bus for 3 years and only just realized I could get off two stops earlier to avoid the worst traffic light in town.

Worst traffic light in town" is a whole mood. I did something similar with my old commute. Drove past a perfect shortcut for like a year before my brain finally connected the dots. I felt like a genius and an idiot at the same time. All that wasted time just sitting there staring at the same bumper. My own personal hell was totally avoidable.

Totally get that feeling of finally seeing the obvious route. I mean, I had this one light that would trap me for three cycles every morning. Switched to a side street and saved like eight minutes, felt so dumb for not trying it sooner.
