Just found out the 7:15am bus on my route has been late 80% of the time for the last six months, according to the transit app's data.

The transit authority's own data shows they could save 15% on fuel costs if buses ran on time.

That 15% fuel savings is wild but not surprising. I do the same thing as @claire_gibson and just assume my bus is 15 minutes late by default. It's crazy how much waste comes from such a simple scheduling problem.

My 8:05 bus has a similar track record. I've started telling myself it leaves at 8:20 just to manage my own expectations. It's a sad little system but it keeps my blood pressure in check.
