Just spent 25 minutes trying to park my car in a spot that looked big enough

There's this spot near my office downtown that I always pass up because it looks way too tight. But yesterday I was running late and desperate so I went for it. Turns out that spot has way more room than I thought, probably because of how the cars around it were angled. I spent 25 whole minutes circling the block trying to find something else when the answer was right there the whole time. Now I feel dumb for avoiding it for the past 6 months. Has anyone else had a parking spot they ignored forever that turned out to be totally fine?

I parallel parked so badly once a bus driver got out to help me.

Read somewhere that parallel parking is basically the driving test equivalent of the final boss. I've seen people get so flustered they just give up and drive around the block. At least that bus driver was nice about it, I would've just rolled down my window and yelled directions at you. I can't even park between two cars in a normal spot without taking three tries.
