Just wasted $40 on a ride share because I didn't check the bus schedule
My usual bus was canceled this morning, so I panicked and booked a car. Turns out the next bus was only 8 minutes behind it, and I would have been fine. Anyone else have a story about a simple commute check that would have saved them cash?

Man, I've paid that stupid panic tax more times than I can count. You'd think I'd learn to just take a breath and check my phone, right? My wallet is basically a monument to bad, rushed decisions.

Check the transit app next time before you panic. They usually show real time delays and the next few buses coming. I've done the same thing rushing to an appointment, paid for a car, then watched my regular bus roll by two minutes later. That sinking feeling when you realize you just lit money on fire for no reason.

Ugh, that's the worst kind of morning... I've definitely paid the "panic tax" before. Did it last month when I thought I'd miss my train, only to see it pull in as my expensive cab drove away. Now I force myself to wait an extra minute and check the app.
