My 2005 Civic's heater finally died for good on the drive to work this morning, it's been limping along for years lol

RIP to the OG heater. Honestly kinda impressive it made it through that many winters. Time to embrace the layered look in the car.

Wasn't there a whole thing about a class action lawsuit for those Civic heaters? I swear I read a forum post years ago where people were tracking the failure. The blend door actuator gears were made of some brittle plastic that just crumbles. You'd hear a clicking from behind the dash for months before it gave up. Some guys were 3D printing metal gears to fix it themselves.
