My best commute was the day everything broke down
Last Tuesday, the 7 train got stuck between stations for 40 minutes. Then my bus rerouted. Then my backup bus broke down too. I walked the last mile in pouring rain, no umbrella. And honestly? Best commute I've had in months. No phones buzzing, no rush, just everyone grumbling together and then going quiet. Nobody pretended to be busy. We were all just stuck and tired. I got to work 2 hours late and my boss didn't care. Why do we fight so hard to keep things running smoothly when the chaos days feel so much more human? Anyone else secretly enjoy the disaster commutes?
