My bus pass reader just gave up on me at the 14th Street station
The scanner beeped red three times in a row this morning, and the driver just waved me on with a tired smile. I realized I've been tapping that same plastic card for almost four years without a single thought about the tech behind it (or what my backup plan was). Has anyone else had their monthly pass just stop working out of the blue?

Happened to me last month. I called the transit help line from the platform, and they pushed a reset to my card over the phone. Took two minutes and it worked on the next bus. Keep the customer service number in your phone contacts.

Did they make you verify your card number first? I had to do that when my card got stuck at a broken reader. They asked for the last four digits and then sent the reset right away.
