Rush hour umbrella domino effect at the 14th Street station

Getting off the 6 train this morning, this woman's umbrella popped open right in the doorway, and within seconds five of us were tangled up like a human kite knot. I was holding a coffee in one hand and my bag in the other, so I just stood there helpless while this guy behind me tried to untangle the spokes without poking anyone's eye out. It took a solid three minutes before we all shuffled out, and somehow my shoelace got caught on someone's backpack strap. The conductor actually held the doors, which never happens, so everyone was looking at us like we were a street performance. I finally got free, walked up the stairs, and realized my umbrella was still on the train. Has anyone else had a tiny mishap turn into a whole crowd event like that, or is it just my luck with rush hour chaos?

Rush hour turns everyone into amateur circus performers. Missing your train because of an umbrella is the real tragedy, that coffee probably saved you from worse rage. Next time just leave the umbrella behind and walk faster.
