Saw a guy on the 7:15 train to Grand Central solve a Rubik's cube in under a minute. I used to think they were just a gimmick.

Wow, that's actually pretty fast. Did he look like he was just doing it from memory or was he really thinking it through? Some people get crazy good at those.

Muscle memory is for physical actions, not solving puzzles. He was probably using a known method, not just remembering the exact moves.
