Showerthought: I had to pick between listening to a true crime podcast or NPR this morning

So I'm sitting in my car at the light on 7th and Main, and I realize I gotta make a call. Do I queue up the new episode of that serial killer show where the host talks for 20 minutes before getting to a detail? Or do I switch to NPR and hear another round of depressing election analysis? I went with the podcast because I figured at least the murder mystery has an ending that makes some sense. Big mistake. The host spent 10 minutes describing the type of carpet in someone's basement, and I missed my exit because I was zoning out. Has anyone else had this debate where both options kinda suck but you gotta pick one anyway?

Is it bad that I still try to pick the option that makes me feel like a slightly smarter kind of miserable, @the_diana? My track record for picking between bad news and worse news is basically a career at this point.
