Some guy clipped my mirror on the 405 and just kept going

Happened last Tuesday at 7:45 AM. He was in a white sedan, old Honda, didn't even slow down. Has anyone else had a hit-and-run on the freeway and actually gotten the cops to care?

The cops to care" - man that's the whole thing right there. I had my mirror taken off by a silver Camry on the 10 last year, called it in and the CHP guy basically told me unless I had a plate number or some really good video, they're not gonna go looking for some random sedan. They filed a report over the phone but I never heard back. For what it's worth I did eventually get my insurance to cover the repair under uninsured motorist, but I had to push them on it because the deductible was still like 500 bucks. So yeah, you're probably SOL on the police part but call your insurance anyway, they might surprise you.

Wait, you actually got your insurance to cover it under uninsured motorist? That's INSANE, I figured they'd laugh you off the phone.

my buddy had his whole side mirror ripped off on the 5 and chp basically told him to file it online and never followed up.
