That time a pigeon stole my sandwich at Union Station

I was standing on the platform waiting for the 8:15 train to New Haven when this absolute menace of a pigeon landed right on my bag, pecked open the wrapper, and flew off with my turkey and swiss. Half the people around me were laughing, the other half were recording it for their Instagram stories. Has anyone else been robbed by wildlife during your morning commute?

Waited an extra 20 minutes for the next train because I was too busy standing there in shock watching it fly away with my lunch. The worst part was the pigeon looked me dead in the eyes right before it took off, like it was saying "thanks sucker." My coworkers still bring it up every time we order lunch and ask if I need someone to guard my sandwich. Honestly I'm just impressed it had the upper body strength to lift a turkey and swiss on a croissant.

That pigeon knew exactly what it was doing, I swear they're smarter than people give them credit for. Had one swoop down and grab my granola bar right out of my hand on my lunch break last fall, I was too stunned to even yell. The worst part is they always look so smug about it, like they're doing you a favor by taking your food. At least your coworkers care enough to joke about guarding your sandwich, mine just laughed and said "should've eaten faster.
