That weird noise on the 8:05 train was a real problem

For about two weeks, I kept hearing this high pitched squeal from the last car on my morning train into the city. I thought it was just a normal train sound, maybe a brake pad or something. Then last Thursday, the conductor made an announcement that the car was being taken out of service due to a bearing issue they found. It made me realize I should have said something to the station agent sooner, because that could have been a real safety thing. I'm going to speak up next time I hear something off, even if I feel silly. Has anyone else had a train noise turn out to be a bigger deal?

Probably just got tired of the noise, honestly.

My buddy had a similar thing happen. His neighbor's car alarm would go off every single night around 3 AM for weeks. It finally stopped when someone, probably the apartment manager, left a note on the windshield that just said "We have all seen the video of you kicking your own car." Guess they needed to feel a little public shame to finally get it fixed.
