The alleyway shortcut that actually cuts 12 minutes off my route

I drive through downtown Austin for work every day and that 3pm traffic on Congress Ave was wrecking me. One day I missed a turn and ended up in some random alley behind a laundromat that connects straight to 6th Street. Been using it for 3 weeks now and it saves me at least 12 minutes even with the potholes. Has anyone else found a random back road or alley that just works way better than the main roads?

12 minutes? I'm calling BS on that claim. I've taken plenty of shortcuts in my time and the best I've ever gotten was maybe 5 minutes off a 30-minute route. You're saying you found an alley that cuts 12 minutes out of the standard drive? That's like saying you found a wormhole behind a pizza place. I'd love to see you actually clock it with a timer. Probably more like 4-5 minutes and you're just counting the time you spent not sitting at a red light staring at the dashboard.

Wait, wait... behind a laundromat? You're telling me there's a secret passage behind some random dry cleaner that shaves off 12 minutes? That's wild. I've been sitting on Congress like a fool for two years now, watching my blood pressure spike at every red light. Those potholes gotta be brutal though, my car's suspension can barely handle my own driveway. But honestly, 12 minutes is 12 minutes, I'd risk a flat tire for that kind of time save.

Pfft, a shortcut that risky ain't worth the alignment cost later.
