The bus driver who told me to stop planning my day on my phone

This driver on the 42 route in Portland watched me miss my stop twice in one week because I was staring at my calendar app. He finally said, "You keep looking at tomorrow but you're missing where you are right now." That hit me hard, so now I just look out the window until my stop and do all my planning at work. Has anyone else had a random stranger basically fix their whole commuting habit without even trying?

Honestly, are we sure it wasn't just a dude who was tired of you making him late? Like, cool line, but you probably would've figured it out on your own eventually. It's not that deep, man.

Three separate mechanics told me the same thing before it was ever an official diagnosis. So it wasn't some random guy venting, it was a pattern. The line probably did stick because it was put better than I could, but the info was already there. I get it not being deep for you, but for the people who heard it, it actually mattered.
