The guy on the 7:15 bus drew my portrait for 20 stops and I still think about it
So last Thursday I'm on the morning bus from Queens into Midtown, same crowded ride as always, and this older guy two seats over keeps glancing at me. I figured he was just bored or maybe I had something on my face. Around the third stop he pulls out a little sketchbook and starts drawing, and I can see him looking up at me and back down. I got kind of annoyed honestly, like who does that without asking. But then he caught my eye, smiled, and turned the book around so I could see. It was me, but relaxed, like how you actually look when nobody's watching you. He just said "you have a good face for drawing, sorry I stared" and got off at 34th Street. I said thank you but that was it. Now I ride the same route hoping I'll see him again so I can ask him something. Has anyone else had a total stranger on their commute do something small that just stuck with you for way longer than it should?
