The guy who barked at me on the 7:15 train

This dude in a suit got on at 34th Street, looked me dead in the eye, and let out three perfect dog barks before sitting down. Anyone else ever had a stranger do something that weird on their ride?

Once had a guy sing the alphabet backwards to me on the F train.

Oh man, I used to think people were just being rude or trying to be funny when they did stuff like that on the train. Like I'd roll my eyes and think "just another weirdo trying to get attention." But then a few months ago this lady on the express train started humming this tune and then clapped twice every 30 seconds. Super odd right? But I realized she just looked so peaceful and happy doing it, like she was in her own little world. It changed my whole view on it. Now I kind of think some people are just coping with the craziness of the city in their own way.

Three out of five people I see on the subway are doing something that looks weird from the outside. Counting tiles, whispering to themselves, tapping out a rhythm on their leg. I think we're all just making up little rituals to keep from losing our minds in such a crowded, loud space.
